D-Backs’ Brandon Allen says Adam LaRoche signing ‘a blessing’
When the Diamondbacks signed first baseman Adam LaRoche, you could imagine what Brandon Allen's reaction might have been. Your imagination would have been wrong.

Webb encouraged by latest bullpen session
These were not the best of conditions for baseball activities, but right-hander Brandon Webb still felt he moved forward today with another bullpen session.
Throwing on a mound in a covered batting cage area at Kino Sports Complex, Webb threw 43 pitches.
He again threw fastballs and change-ups and felt he made progress with his mechanics.
“I keep repeating myself, but I think it keeps getting better every time,” he said.
And for the first time, reporters were allowed in to watch Webb throw (video below).
“Made me a little nervous,” he joked.
My impressions: It looked like what Webb and the coaches had been saying. ...
